Empowering Communities Through Technology:

We are excited to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between Thee Dunbar Pavilion and the University of Arizona Center for Digital Humanities. Thanks to a generous grant from the Commerce Department, we are embarking on an innovative project that will bring new opportunities and experiences to our community. Join us on this exciting journey!

Who are we?

The Dunbar Pavilion Cultural Center in Tucson has partnered with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to offer virtual and augmented reality courses on healthcare, finances, and technology. These courses are part of a multi-million dollar grant aimed at expanding broadband access and providing programming to improve digital equity. The program is open to all, and emphasizes community involvement in the future of technology. With the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law allocating $65 billion to supplement existing efforts, the NTIA is leading the way to achieve digital equity and improve access to high-speed internet.

The sky’s the limit!

At our center, we believe that everyone should have access to the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital world. That’s why we offer courses on budgeting, social media, Google Suite, and medical care – designed to empower both beginners and seasoned pros with the tools needed for success. Our interactive courses are designed to be engaging, fun, and immersive, using the latest technology, such as virtual and augmented reality experiences. Additionally, we provide opportunities for you to build your own business using the power of technology. Our lab is equipped with a volumetric capture stage, headsets, software, and a full laptop bar.
